Ombre di Luce

(Shadows in the Light)

June 22, 2024

- A New Album - A New Chapter -

Dear Friends and Followers,I am thrilled to announce that my album, "Ombre di Luce (Shadows in Light)," is now complete and mastered! This collection of 14 meticulously curated arias from the Classical epoch has been a labor of love, and I cannot wait to share it with all of you. It will have its release September 20, 2024 on the prestigeous and quite remarkable Pentatone label.

We recorded at the historic CEPAC Le Silo in Marseille, France, with the exceptional Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille under the baton of Clelia Cafiero. "Ombre di Luce" promises to be a captivating listening experience . The album features works by renowned composers such as Mozart, Gluck, Bologne, Salieri, and Paer, offering a diverse exploration of the human experience through the lens of classical music . These experiences I've tried to capture as emotion, as well as keeping the beauty of tone necessary for these gorgeous odes.

I am particularly excited about the inclusion of an aria by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, the first known opera composer of African descent in European classical music . His piece Depuis Longtemps from "L' Amant Anonyme," adds a unique dimension to the album, reflecting the richness and diversity of the classical music tradition.

As we prepare for the release, I am delighted to announce that the feature tracks will be available on August 30, 2024 . These carefully selected tracks offer a tantalizing glimpse into the emotional journey that "Ombre di Luce" takes the listener on:

  1. "Vado Incontro" - A thrilling and challenging piece that showcases the virtuosity of the tenor voice .
  2. "Il mio Tesoro" - A gorgeous, straightforward aria that captures the essence of classical beauty .
  3. "Dolce Oggetto" - An epic aria by Ferdinando Paer, whose work "Leonora" inspired Beethoven to write his masterpiece "Fidelio" ... but with cool fioratura!

These feature tracks represent the heart and soul of "Ombre di Luce," and I cannot wait for you to experience their power and emotion .

The official release date for the full album is set for September 20, 2024. This date marks the culmination of an incredible artistic journey, and I cannot wait to share this work with all of you. "Ombre di Luce" is more than just an album; it is a testament to the enduring power of classical music and its ability to connect us to our shared humanity .

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team that has made this album possible, including producer Job Maarse of the San Francisco Classical Recording Company, Gordon Getty and the amazing gang at Rork Music, and the talented musicians of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille . Their dedication and artistry have brought "Ombre di Luce" to life in ways I could have only dreamed of.

As we count down to the release, I invite you to join me on this journey through the shadows and light of the human experience. Stay tuned for more updates, and prepare to be moved by the timeless beauty of classical music.

With gratitude,

Nathan
